Iganachi Razaki Omia
CEO and Founder, Omia Agribusiness Development Group (OADG) Uganda
Iganachi Razaki Omia is a 34-year-old Ugandan passionate about Agribusiness Development and farmer livelihoods. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree from Makerere University and a Diploma in Agriculture from Agrostudies, Israel. Razaki is a 2019 Mandela Washington Fellow, 2024 Acumen East Africa Fellow and a 2022 One Young World Ambassador.
He is the CEO and Founder of Omia Agribusiness Development Group Ltd. The Company is committed to ensuring that every farmer in Africa has access to Climate-Smart Agricultural Inputs for Crop and Animal Production, Extension Services and Linkages to Profitable Markets for their Produce. The Company main offices are in Arua City in Uganda with branches in 9 other locations in the Country. The firm directly employs 126 young people across the country, over 15 interns and works with 190 last-mile Commercial agents. Since their operations started in July 2018, they have reached to 96,505 farmers, 9% refugees and 39% women. With the above services, 92% of the farmers have been able to increase production and 89% have increased income. This has helped reduce cases of food insecurity and also improved their income. With improved income, farmers are able to access better medical care, pay school fees for their children, put better housing and live a dignified life.
