Mike Pearson is a Research Fellow in the Humanitarian Policy Group (HPG) at ODI Global. He focuses on humanitarian funding, frequently taking a quantitative lens and touching upon humanitarian system reform issues such as localisation. Most recently, he was the lead author of ALNAP's 2025 Global Humanitarian Assistance report which tells the story of the humanitarian sector's finances. Before joining HPG, he was a Senior Policy Analyst at Development Initiatives focusing on humanitarian funding. He has worked across research and programme management roles and consultancies for a range of actors, including UN agencies, INGOs, and donor governments and has written for The New Humanitarian on humanitarian funding and system issues.
